About GIF Cropper

GIF Cropper is a small set of free tools for one job: changing the size and framing of animated GIFs without breaking them. With the GIF Cropper you can crop any area of a GIF or crop it straight to Discord, Slack, X and Instagram sizes, and the GIF Resizer scales a whole animation up or down.

Why We Built a GIF Cropper That Never Uploads Your Files

Most online GIF tools upload your file to a server, process it there and keep a copy for a while. That is slow on big files and uncomfortable for anything personal. Modern browsers are fast enough to do the whole job themselves, so we built tools that do exactly that.

We also kept running into the same problems people describe on forums: cropped GIFs that flicker, lose frames or play at the wrong speed, and transparent edges that turn grey. Every tool here rebuilds each full frame before editing it, keeps the original frame delays and loop count, and blends transparent edges correctly.

How Local Processing Works

When you choose a GIF, your browser reads the file from your device. A background worker decodes the frames, crops or scales them, and encodes a new GIF, all in your browser's memory. The result is handed back to you as a download. At no point is the image sent to us or to anyone else, and when you close the tab it is gone.

What We Promise: No Watermark, No Sign-Up, No Pop-Ups

The tools are free to use. There is no account to create, no watermark on your GIFs, and no pop-up standing between you and your download.
