About GIF Merger
GIF Merger is a free GIF combiner for when you need to combine GIFs into one file. Add two to nine GIFs, choose how they sit together, and download a single animated GIF that plays them all at once.
You can merge GIFs side by side, stack them, line them up in a grid or build a loose collage, on a transparent or solid background. Still PNG and JPG images can join in too, and nothing is uploaded: the GIF combiner runs entirely in your browser.
What it does
Features
- Four layouts. The GIF combiner places clips side by side, stacked, in a grid or as a collage of different-sized tiles.
- 2 to 9 files. Mix GIFs with still PNG, JPG or WebP images, in any order you like.
- Never stretched. Every input is scaled evenly; in a grid, choose Fit to show it all or Fill to cover the cell.
- Gap and alignment. Space the tiles 0 to 40 px apart and align them to the center, the top or the left, or match their sizes.
- Transparent or solid background. Keep transparency, or pick white, black or any color.
- Clean edges. Transparent pixels stay transparent, with no dark or white halos after scaling.
- One shared clock. Every clip keeps its own speed and loops until the longest timing lines up, up to 10 seconds.
- Private and free. The GIF combiner runs in your browser, with no upload, no watermark and no sign-up.

Use cases
What People Combine GIFs For
A GIF combiner earns its keep whenever one clip on its own doesn't tell the whole story.
Before-and-after comparisons
Put an old and a new version next to each other, such as a UI tweak, an edit or a product change, so the difference plays out in one side by side GIF.
Reaction combos
Pair two reactions into one reply, or line up a few favorites in a gif grid for a group chat.
Storyboards
Stack GIFs from several steps or scenes into one storyboard, so a whole sequence can be read top to bottom in a single file.
In-depth guide
Side by Side, Stacked, Grid or Collage: Which Layout to Use
Each layout in the GIF combiner suits a different job. Here is when to reach for which.
Side by side GIF
Best for two or three clips you want compared at a glance. Center keeps each clip at its own size; Match size makes them all the same height, so a tall and a wide GIF line up neatly.
Stack GIFs vertically
Stacked suits phones and long scrolls: steps of a tutorial, a sequence of moments, or a storyboard read top to bottom. Use Match size to give every clip the full width.
GIF grid
A grid uses two columns for up to four files and three for up to nine, with equal cells. Fit shows each GIF whole and may leave space around it; Fill covers the cell and trims the edges evenly.
GIF collage maker
Collage keeps every file's shape and packs them into rows of different-sized tiles that exactly fill the width, for a gif collage that feels arranged rather than boxed in.
How timing works when you merge GIFs
Clips rarely share a frame rate or length, so the GIF combiner puts them on one shared clock: it takes the fastest clip's frame rate, up to 25 fps, and gives every frame the same delay. Each clip keeps its own speed and loops along that clock until their loops line up, up to 10 seconds, so a short clip never freezes while a long one plays. Unlike the other tools on this site, the merger doesn't copy each original frame delay one to one.
Keeping the file size down
A merged GIF carries every clip at once, so it is usually bigger than any single input. Choose a smaller output width, fewer files or a solid background, and if you need a hard limit, run the result through the GIF Compressor.
FAQ
GIF Merger FAQ
Quick answers for when you combine GIFs. Didn't find yours? Email support@gifcropper.com.
Can I merge GIFs with different frame rates?
Yes. The merged GIF runs on one shared clock: it uses the fastest clip's frame rate, up to 25 fps, and every frame gets the same delay. Each clip keeps its own speed and loops along that clock, but the original frame-by-frame delays are not copied one to one, unlike the other tools on this site.
Will the merged GIF keep the original loop count?
It loops forever only if every animated input loops forever. Otherwise it uses the smallest loop count among them, so a clip set to play once makes the merged GIF play once.
How many GIFs can I combine at once?
The GIF combiner takes two to nine files in one go. Grid uses two columns for up to four files and three columns for five to nine.
Can I combine a GIF with a static image?
Yes. Add a PNG, JPG or WebP next to your GIFs and it stays on screen for the whole animation. Animated WebP files are treated as still images.
Why is my merged GIF larger than the originals?
The merged file holds every clip's pixels for every frame of the shared clock, and short loops repeat to fill it. Choose a smaller output width or fewer files, or shrink the result to a set size with the GIF Compressor.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The GIF combiner merges every file inside your browser, so nothing leaves your device.
Why does my merged GIF stop at 10 seconds?
To keep files manageable, the shared clock is capped at 10 seconds. If your clips' loops only line up after longer than that, the result is cut at 10 seconds, which can cause a small jump when it restarts. Trimming the clips to matching lengths avoids it.
Can I change the order of the GIFs?
Yes. Drag the files in the GIF combiner's list, or use the arrow buttons next to each one, and the preview updates right away.
Does it keep transparent backgrounds?
Yes. With the background set to Transparent, transparent areas, gaps and empty space stay transparent, and scaled edges are blended with premultiplied alpha, so there are no dark or white halos.
Will my GIFs be stretched to fit?
No. Every file is scaled evenly. In a grid, Fit shows the whole clip and may leave empty space, while Fill covers the cell and trims the edges.
